TEMPE HERNANDEZ 1978, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Visual artist

Studied Fine Arts at the National University Institute of Arts, Argentina. Graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Sound Art and from the Technological Institute of Contemporary Music in Argentina. Hernandez’s work transits the visual and sound field, he is a multidisciplinary artist. At an early age he studied music and trained as a jazz musician studying in Bs.As, later in Barcelona double bass with Horacio Fumero & Javier Colina and composition with Guillermo Klein. After living in Barcelona for 5 years and having recorded 5 jazz albums for the Fresh Sound label and obtained the award for best jazz albums in 2003 with the group UNEXPECTED by the Catalan Jazz Association, he decides to return to BsAs where he combines music and his interest in painting and slowly transitions to plastic arts. He begins to work with the sculptor Osvaldo Decastelli and shortly after begins to paint a series of works that he will exhibit at a Cultural Center in the Almagro neighborhood. Later he entered to study at IUNA, Fine Arts, where he met the painter Enrique Burone Risso and attended his classes in his workshop in San Fernando. His interest in painting and screen printing led him to do the La Espatula workshop in Tigre where classes were taught and screen printing projects were developed. He work with the renowned artist Carlos Reggazzoni as director of the emerging art gallery in the sheds of Retiro, Bs.As. Argentina. He received the prize of the Arte Espacio 2010 fair in painting and participated in shows of cultural and social interest, participating with the Pro Motos Foundation, Misiones Science Museum, Borges Cultural Center, Sarmiento Museum, Salto Uruguay Museum of Fine Arts, Cultural Center Clemente Soto Velez in New York, Center of Latin American culture in Berlin. He currently lives in Barcelona and works with ArteVistas Gallery and as filmaker at Fusion Visual Audiovisual Production Company.

TECHNIQUE He works with acrylic and graphic techniques such as serigraphy, generating a series of plastic works that express movement. He also uses the collage technique combining graphic work, digital technique and video to generate installations and audiovisual works. He has won prizes and mentions in painting and audiovisual contests. His work has been exhibited in Argentina, Uruguay, the US, Spain and Germany. It integrates private collections in several countries. Currently lives and works in Barcelona, ​​Spain
